The nature of consciousness
The one thing we all share in common is our consciousness. The Eckhart Tolle post explains how to become directly aware of it, and Anita Moorjani, among many others, describes her experience of being pure consciousness after her near death experience.
The suggestion is we are only aware of a fraction of our consciousness, which is who and what we really are. Meditation as well as spontaneous experiences show many people this as well as drugs which I never recommend. The suggestion is there is only one consciousness, projected into each body, but actually one infinite whole.
Imagine what this means. From the most simple clairvoyance and telepathy where we tune in to another person's being, to awareness of God itself. The one difference between each person's consciousness is its frequency. This is the same as a universal radio which tunes in to specific frequencies. Therefore we can tune into anything we choose to and feel generally what they are feeling. With practice this can become a full mind meld as seen in programmes like Star Trek.
Ultimately our consciousness has the potential to expand infinitely, allowing us an awareness of anywhere and anything we tune in to. This implies we are never alone, as while assuming we are in a closed bubble of awareness and body, even the smallest glimpses of other people's awareness through readings or even specific dreams, are the first steps in becoming aware of beyond the imaginary closed bubble.
Exercises will expand your awareness, and as you experience more times outside your consciousness's usual boundaries, the brakes will be taken off and you will experience more and more expanded awareness and what lies in those realms.
